PFAS Restriction Update
The European Chemical Agency’s (ECHA) scientific committees for Risk Assessment (RAC) and Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) reviewed PFAS restrictions in the petroleum, mining, textiles, and food packaging sectors. While petroleum and mining evaluations are provisionally concluded, discussions on other sectors will continue in the November meetings. Read more
Increasing Demand for Biodegradable Solutions
As part of our ESG programme, the ESA is exploring sustainable alternatives to plastic spacers for spiral wound gaskets and polyethylene (PE) plastic foil, examining biodegradable solutions and paper-based replacements. Our ESG Director Sandy Van den Broeck has initiated discussions with paper and cardboard manufacturers to find viable solutions. Read more
